Austin M. Brenner, 92, of Lafayette died at 12:19 PM Tuesday March 26, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Central. He was born May 11, 1920, in Lafayette to the late Lester and Mildred McConnell Brenner. Austin graduated from Lafayette Jefferson High School and served in the United States Army in WWII. On January 17, 1942 he married Betty Christian in Lafayette and she survives. Mr. Brenner worked as a Machinist at ALCOA, Leamans Machine Shop, Vulcan Materials and is retired. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, American Legion, 40&8 and enjoyed wood working and gardening. Surviving with his wife is a daughter Pamela Sherwood of Indianapolis, grandchildren Amy Reever of Plainfield, Christopher Sherwood of Indianapolis and a great granddaughter Miranda Reever. Austin is also survived by a brother Jerry Brenner wife Sue of Houston, TX. Visitation will be 4-7 PM Friday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Graveside service 11:30 AM Saturday at Rest Haven Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorials to American Heart Association or Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
