I got to know you dad when I worked at Anheuser-Busch in the early 70&s. Even after I left I would run into him frequently as I too lived on the West Side. We always managed to find time to talk and catch up. He was such a nice man and so proud of his children. He was always bragging about your latest accomplishments.

May he rest in peace.

God Bless,

Barb (Burwell) Knochel

Art was always a good neighbor and a good friend to my family. He never minded how many times my soccer ball would fly into his yard, but always returned it in true ""football"" fashion. His passion for music, friends, and conversation are what I remember most about Art. He was generous with his time and cared for those around him. He will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Sincerely,
Robert W Douglas
Fred and Penny Douglas left a message on February 9, 2011:
We were deeply saddened to hear of Art&s passing. We have so many fond memories of Art as well as Grace. They showed us much kindness when we first explored moving into the Avondale neighborhood and they made our being there such a positive and wonderful experience. Our children appreciated all the good times and we really missed Art when he moved out. Penny and I so much appreciated being invited to his recent birthday party and seeing all the old-time friends and neighbors. The music and friendship will always be treasured. You have our deepest sympathy. The Douglas clan.
