Arthur J. Eisele, 90, of West Lafayette, died at 3:10 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 6, 2011, at Westminster Village.
He was born Dec. 18, 1920, in Ihringen, Germany, to the late John and Anna Kleiser Eisele.
He served in the United States Coast Guard from April 22, 1942, to Dec. 22, 1945.
On Sept. 17, 1949, he married Grace Borchardt in St. Louis, Mo. She preceded him in death on Nov. 28, 1993.
He worked for Anheuser Busch for 42 years then 8 years with A.E. Staley and at the time of his retirement he was Refinery Superintendant. Mr. Eisele was a member of the Church of the Blessed Sacrament and volunteered on several committies, sang in the choir and was an usher. He coached for 10 years with the Tippecanoe Soccer Association. He was a volunteer driver for the American Cancer Society and enjoyed playing his harmonica, dancing and speaking German.
Surviving are his children, Cheryl E. West (husband: Kent) of Indianapolis and Mark J. Eisele (wife: Marie) of Beaverton, Ore., and a sister, Evelyn Klein (husband: Chester) of North Port, Fla.
Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Church of the Blessed Sacrament. Fr. Paul Graf and the Rev Dr. Gary Reif will be officiating. Entombment will be at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens. Those wishing may contribute to the American Cancer Society.
