CLARKS HILL ? Arthur D. “Art” Pellam, 74, of Clarks Hill, died at 4:15 p.m. Sunday, March 28, 2010, at Mulberry Health and Retirement Community.
Born March 5, 1936, in Lafayette to the late Marvin and Lorna Shaw Pellam, he graduated from Battle Ground High School in 1954 and served in the Indiana National Guard for 10 years.
On June 8, 1962, he married Carol Kelley in Lafayette, and she survives.
Mr. Pellam was a water and fuel analyst at Purdue University from 1960 until retiring April 28, 2000.
He was a member of Battle Ground United Methodist Church where he was captain of the dartball team. He also was a member of the Odd Fellows Merger Lodge 5, Rebecca?s Encampment 16, Canton 18 and Grange 2338. He enjoyed fishing and working on cars.
Surviving besides his wife are his children, Daniel W. Pellam (wife: Lisa) of West Lafayette and John L. Pellam (wife: Alicia) of Clarks Hill; three sisters, Sarah Adams (husband: Charles) of Winter Haven, Fla., Marie Myers (husband: Frank) of Mulberry and Bernice Pellam of Lafayette; and a brother, Frank W. Pellam (wife: Loretta) of Poland, Ind.
Also surviving are 8 grandchildren, Marea Pellam, Kayla Pellam, Jessica Pellam, Andrew Pellam, Morgan Hicks, Miranda Hicks, Josette Hicks and Samuel Hicks. Preceded in death by a daughter, Marta Hicks, and a sister, Ethel Keifer.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd., with service there at 1 p.m. Wednesday, with Pastor Brian White officiating. Interment, Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
