Arecurtis D. Freeman, 79, of West Lafayette, IN, formerly of East Cleveland, OH went to her heavenly home on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette, IN.
She was born April 2, 1941 in Macon, MS to the late Curtis R. Tippett and Minnie Lee (Robertson) Whitfield. She graduated from high school in Mississippi. Arecurtis worked as an Anesthia Technician for the Veterans Administration in Cleveland, OH until her retirement. Arecurtis also worked part-time at Judson Park Retirement Center as a Nurse Assistant. She was a member of Christian Fellowship Church in Cleveland, served on the nursing home ministry, and she also attended The Word Church in Cleveland.
Arecurtis Loved God and all that he stood for. She followed his word faithfully as was evident in how much she cared for others. She has a giving heart and was happiest when she was lending a hand or shoulder to her friends and family. She was loved by so many and was known by everyone as “Mom”, “Mother” or “Miss Freeman”. She enjoyed sports and loved the Pittsburgh Steelers. She also loved talking on the phone to friends and family. However, above all things, Arecurtis was a proud mom and loved her 2 sons, Dwayne and Aaron. She always had their back and was their biggest fan! She also cherished time spent with her grandsons.
Arecurtis is survived by her sons, Dwayne Freeman and Aaron (Jolie)Walker both of West Lafayette; and her grandsons, Hudson and Asher Walker of West Lafayette; as well as many cousins.
A celebration of Arecurtis’ life will be held at a later date in Cleveland, Ohio.
