Anna T. Davidson

May 18, 1938 - June 3, 2025

Anna was a proud graduate of Shinnston High School and went on to earn her degree from Fairmont State University. After college, she began an exciting chapter in New York City, where she worked at Rockefeller Center for the Singer Corporation. She often reflected on those years with fondness and pride.

On June 12, 1971, Anna married James D. Davidson Jr. in her hometown of Shinnston. Their devoted marriage lasted more than 50 years, until Jim’s passing in 2022.

Anna was fiercely loyal to her friends and family, a constant source of strength and care for those she loved. She enjoyed nothing more than lunches with her girlfriends, tending to her garden, and most importantly spoiling her grandchildren. She had a well-earned reputation as a caring host, preparing generous Italian meals, always making friends and family feel welcomed, nourished, and loved.

She is survived by her daughter Theresa Davidson of Denver, Colorado, and Theresa’s sons, Brady and Anthony; and her son Jay Davidson of Chicago, Illinois, his wife Corina, and their two daughters, Lucy and Evelyn.

A Celebration of Life is being planned in West Lafayette for July 27th.

A memorial service will be held in August in Shinnston, West Virginia, where Anna will be laid to rest among loved ones.

Dear Theresa, Jay, and families. You may not recognize my name, but I am the mother of Benjamin Wachs and Naomi Wachs, whom you knew through the West Lafayette Schools. Your mother and I crossed paths again a few years ago, and I deeply enjoyed our friendship and our mutual concern for a widowed neighbor of hers. I am sure she is deeply mourned -- but may you find solace and peace through memories.

Jay and Terry, So sorry to hear of your mom's passing. She and my mom were very close - more like sisters than cousins. They are together now I'm certain. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Jim and Anna were dear friends. I will always be grateful for the hospitality they showed me while I was studying for my doctorate at Purdue. Jim was my major professor and we continued our friendship well beyond the days of producing the dissertation. I loved Anna’s cooking and she kept myself and all of Jim‘s other students well nourished as we pursued our studies. She was also an engaging conversationalist, and I very much enjoyed hearing what she had to say. I will offer mass for her eternal rest, and for the consolation of her family and friends. May perpetual light shine up upon her.
