Allison C. Hollis

Allison Hollis was called to heaven while surrounded by her family on Monday, November 16, 2015 after her courageous fight against cancer. Alli was loved beyond words and left behind her parents, Jesse (Lynn) Hollis and Connie Hollis, siblings Jenelle Hollis and Emily Hollis and boyfriend of nearly 3 years, Brad Stefaniak. Alli is also survived by grandparents Judy Hollis, and Richard and Susan Workman; uncles Tim (Teesa) Hollis, Robert (Cheri) Hollis, and Doug (Vickie) Workman; cousins David Hollis, Ryan Hollis, Rachel Workman, Hannah (Kyle) Curry, Mary Grace Workman and Douglas Workman. She was preceded in death by her grandfather Jesse Hollis. Alli graduated from Clinton Prairie High School and Ball State University, summa cum laude, with a BA in Elementary Education. She was employed as a kindergarten teacher at Edgelea Elementary in Lafayette. Alli had a passion for working with children and had previously worked at the YMCA summer program and as a Title I teacher at Murdock Elementary. Alli was a member of Colfax Christian Church. Alli had a sensitive heart full of love which she showered on family, friends, children and every animal that crossed her path. She loved traveling and found her way to a beach most summers of her life. Her favorite time of year was the fall, and she loved the changing of the leaves. Alli enjoyed swimming, taking walks, reading and spending time with family and friends. Visitation will be Thursday, November 19, 2015 at Soller-Baker Funeral Home, 400 Twyckenham Boulevard, Lafayette from 4:00pm – 7:00pm followed immediately by a service in their chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made out to Edgelea Elementary in Alli's memory.
