Adrienne K. Glatz, 58, of Lafayette passed away at her home on November 10, 2014 surrounded by her children and her husband. Adrienne fought cancer for over four years, being described as a miracle by her doctors due to her courage and strength. Adrienne was born in Indianapolis on May 13, 1956. She attended Carmel High School and Ball State University, where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. At Ball State she met her husband James D. Glatz (Jim), and they were married on February 16, 1980. In her early career she worked for Workforce Development and later went on to act as Money Manager for Area IV Council on aging. Adrienne was a skilled quilter and member of the Common Threads Quilt Guild, making dozens of quilts for her family and friends. She was also a talented gardener who knew the name of every flower and taught her husband and children well. Adrienne was wildly artistic with an eye for interior design and studied painting with watercolors in her last few years. Adrienne will be remembered for her many talents, her sweet, soft nature and her loving friendship. She is preceded in death by her father Charles Leslie Steele Jr. and her brother Charles Leslie Steele III. She is survived by her husband Jim, her son James Lee Glatz of Chicago, her daughter Laura A. Glatz of Indianapolis, her mother Nancy Steele Sheil of Raytown, Missouri, and her brother Jeffrey Arthur Steele of Woodland Hills, California. Memorial will be held Saturday, November 15, 2014 at Soller-Baker Funeral Homes (400 Twyckenham Blvd) in Lafayette. Visitation from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM. Service immediately following.
